Materials:
Colored or glitter glue sticks
Clear sticks for purging
Mini tote bags of your choice (found at almost any craft store)
Ultra fine glitter
Pattern
Wax paper
Decorations: ribbons, rhinestones
1.) Heat up glue gun and put in clear or colored/glitter stick of glue.
2.) To create the flower (as shown) or any other shape: take your pattern and cover with wax paper. Begin filling in your pattern with glue, use steady, even pressure on the trigger of your glue gun. Try to fill in with a back and forth motion or circular. Drawing an outline of the pattern with glue and going back to fill it in will result in the border drying before the center, so you will have an uneven texture/look. If you would like to accent your flower with glitter, sprinkle it on while the glue is still wet. Once hardened, peel off of wax paper. And if you want to accent it with any rhinestones, glue those on now as well.
3.) Edge the bag with ribbon, by gluing the ribbon down and if the ribbon is sheer and the glue shows through, you can use colored glue as shown to not only cover it up, but accent the bag nicely! In this case, after the colored glue was squiggled on, pink glitter was sprinkled on the glue while it was still wet.
4.) If you're going to accent your bag with ribbon bows (as shown) create your ribbon bows first. Take a 14 inch length of ribbon and make a large bow with 4 inch long tails and glue that onto the bag.
5.) Take your glue flower and glue on top of the ribbon bow already on bag.
6.)Take a 5 inch piece of ribbon and tie a small bow, glue this bow onto the bottom edge of your flower piece.
These little bags make for an excellent party project. Each person can make their own and then fill with goodies or the hostess can make the bags ahead of time and fill them, making for a memorable party keepsake.
