Delicious treats not to eat!
Materials:
Glue gun/ clear glue sticks
Sheet of plain paper for pattern
Pencil
Cardstock (2 colors- any, red for cherry)
Fabric paints or glitter glue for decoration
X-acto Knife and scissors
The pattern used to make the cupcakes was borrowed from a purse making book: Crafty Bags for Stylish Girls.
1.) Heat up glue gun and put in glue.
2.) Either by using the same pattern from Crafty Bags, free form drawing your own or using something completely different...cut your pattern out. (If you're doing it by yourself, you'll need to draw 3 pieces: the bottom half of the cupcake, the frosting top and the cherry.)
3.) Place your paper patterns on the cardstock and trace. Using the scissors and X-acto knife, cut out of cardstock.
4.) Next, set the cupcake bottom down and apply hot glue to the top third of the cup and set the frosting piece on top, up to one-fourth of the frosting should overlap onto the cup.
5.) Then apply a small bit of glue to the bottom half of the cherry and set onto the top of the cupcake frosting, leaving the top half sticking off of the cupcake.
6.) Once the glue is hardened, take the fabric paints of glitter glue and begin embellishing by edging the frosting, drawing on sprinkles or glitzing up the cherry. Be sure to leave space on the frosting for your message!
7.) When the decorations are dry, write in your sentiments, attach to package and send!
