CraftyGoat has created a clear and well photographed tutorial on a more advanced craft, creating a coaster from polymer clay, decorated with a rubber stamp. You'll need materials that you may just not having laying about the house like a pasta machine (or polymer clay specific pasta machine), cork (for the back) StazOn ink pads, deep cut rubber stamp in design of your choice and a glue gun. 
When completed, this is a professional looking product that make an excellent housewarming gift!

I didn't mention it in my instructions, but if your readers don't have a pasta machine, they can use other tools to roll the clay out to an even thickness. I'd recommend using a brayer, a clay-dedicated rolling pin, or even a glass jar.
