Glittery Fall Foliage

Halloween is done and Thanksgiving is upon us, what better way to welcome fall (if you haven't already) than with a beautiful, glittery fall brooch? Made from card stock, glitter and glue, this little pin is sure to garner you oohs and ahhs from your fellow fall foliage appreciators.

Materials
fall leaves colored card stock (yellow, orange, red and green)
colored glitter in the same colors as card stock
tacky glue (Elmer's, Aleene's- any craft glue you can brush on)
hot glue gun with clear glue sticks
jewel for the center of the pin
safety pin (to pin on when completed)

1. Trace leaf templates out on colored card stock. One different size leaf for each color.

2. Cut leaves out of card stock.

3. Brush each leaf with tacky glue, liberally.

4. Gently shake colored glitter onto the corresponding leaf. Spread glitter on so that it covers the
list completely.

5. Let leaves dry overnight or at least 4 hours before proceeding any further.

6. Heat up glue gun

7. Starting with the largest leaf, apply a dab of hot glue in the center and press the next largest leaf into the largest leaf, centering it.

8. Repeat with the next size leaf until all 4 leaves are together.

9. Take the safety pin and push through the back of the two-three biggest leaves, without piercing all 4 leaves, so that you can wear the brooch.

10. Apply a small dab of glue to the back of the jewel and press into the center of the smallest leaf.

All done! Granted the leaves will lose some glitter as you wear it, unless you seal the leaves after the glitter dries with a polyurethane (paper friendly) type varnish before gluing all 4 together.
