Materials:
Glue gun/ clear glue sticks
Styrofoam ball (2inch diameter)
Lots of metallic pom poms in the 1/4 inch size (2 colors or more)
Matching ribbon for hanger (about 4inches long)
1. If you want to do a specific pattern, lay out your pom poms before you get started gluing.
2. Heat up glue gun and put in glue.
3. Apply a dollop of glue to the first pom pom and starting in the center of the Styrofoam ball, gently press the pom pom to the ball. Hold for a few second for the glue to take.
4. Continue gluing pom poms to the Styrofoam ball, working your way around across the middle and then moving outward from there for the next few rows. You want the top of the ball to be the last place you glue pompoms to.
5. Before you completely cover the Styrofoam ball, cut a small slit on the top of the ball with an X-Acto knife.
6. Take your piece of ribbon for the hanger, fold in half and apply a small dab of glue between the ends, press together and hold till they are glued together.
7. Squirt a little glue into the slit you cut on the top of the Styrofoam ball and stick the glued ends of the ribbon hanger in as far as it will go. Wait till this hardens.
8. Finish gluing on the rest of the pom poms.
9. If there are little blank spots of loose bits between the pom poms, squirt glue down in between those cracks and gently press the surrounding pom poms together. This should help tighten up the spaces between so that none of the white Styrofoam ball shows.
All done!
