St. Patrick's 4 Leaf Clover Pot and Chocolate Coins

Materials

  • Glue gun/ clear glue sticks
  • Small clay pot (about 2" tall)- St. Patrick's Grow Kit from Target is best
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Pipe cleaners in purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red
  • Tiny plastic pot (glitter covered is best!) Found in the dollar section at JoAnn's
  • Chocolate gold coins

How to put it together

  1. Using the black acrylic paint, coat the entire pot, except for the inside bottom half inch. If you got the St. Patrick's Grow pot, there will be a little clump of dirt and seeds to plant you own 4 leaf clovers with. If not, you'll have to supply your own dirt and seeds!
  2. Let the paint on the clay pot dry.
  3. Heat up glue gun
  4. Fold pipe cleaners in half, cut in half.
  5. Starting with the purple pipe cleaner, drop a dab of glue on the end and press the end of the blue pipe cleaner in. Apply dab of glue to the other side of the blue pipe cleaner and press the green pipe cleaner in. Repeat with yellow, orange and red pipe cleaners.
  6. Apply a thin line of glue along the edge of the purple pipe cleaner and press the blue pipe cleaner down. Repeat on the edge of the blue pipe cleaner with the green. Be sure to let the previous color harden completely before moving on to the next color.
  7. Once you have a solid line of all the colors glued together, trim the ends at an angle.
  8. Glue one end of the rainbow to the inside of the black clay pot.
  9. Work the pipe cleaner rainbow into a bend shape, gently.
  10. Fill the little plastic pot with the chocolate coins.
  11. Place the little plastic pot under the rainbow. >
  12. All done! This is a fun little surprise to leave on a kid or co-worker's desk this March 17th!
