Better Homes and Garden's Special Halloween Tricks and Treats magazine is a must pick up for me every September and this year is no exception. While flipping through the "178 frightfully fun ideas" I came across this craft for building a grim reaper from pumpkins to place in the front yard. It was too good not to share!

- Pick up 4 medium sized pumpkins (or Funkins), hollow out and cut holes (just big enough for the PVC pipe) in the top and bottom of 3 of the pumpkins.
- Cut a face out of the 4th pumpkin on the top around the stem.
- Spray paint all the pumpkins with a faux-stone style of paint and let dry.
- Get a PVC pipe of the appropriate length and width to hold up your 4 pumpkin tower, drive into the ground, nice and sturdy.
- Thread the pumpkins on the PVC pipe.
- Add a hooded black Halloween costume and a plastic (or even better, real) scythe.
- Place a battery operated tealight or strobe light inside the head and let the fun begin!
The special Halloween edition of Better Homes and Gardens only comes out once a year and is on newsstands in any bookstore or coffee shop. It's not too late to get your own today and check out the section on throwing a Gothic Gala of your own!
