Making your own magnets is easy, fun and a great way to personalize your refrigerator. Why buy magnets when you can make your own unique creations!
Materials:
Magnets
Flat marbles
A pen
Scissors
Art - your choice, I used an old magazine
Diamond Glaze, silicone sealer
- First, find a suitable picture for your magnet. In our example, flip through your magazine and find something you like. Here, I like this leopard.
- Place your flat marble over your image. Find out where you like it the most, maybe it's off center, maybe it's just giving a hint of the subject. Here's where you're the artist. After you've found your image, trace it with a pen.
- Cut out the image, and hold it behind your marble just to make sure it looks good. Make sure it covers the glass perfectly from the front, and make sure that there's not excess on the back.
- Then, apply a thin coat of your diamond glaze to the marble. Place your picture with the art facing the flat side, so the art shows through the rounded side. Hold it to make sure it dries evenly.
- Next, grab one of your magnets and glue it to the back of your marble. Remember to hold it in place to make sure everything dries and seals evenly.
Here, are some other magnets I did.
